Cooling power or yield
is a climate control system's capacity of cooling, and it is fundamental factor when choosing your air conditioner. This is measured in Btu/h (British Thermal Unit/hour), frig/h (frigorie/hour) or W (Watt).
Power absorbed or consumption
is the air conditioner's power consumption. In catalogues provided by manufacturers, this is given in Watt (W) or KiloWatt (kW = 1000xWatt). Catalogues usually also include the current used in Ampere (A).
E.E.R. (Energy Efficiency Ratio)
is a numerical coefficient that indicates the efficiency or yield of a climate control system. It is a pure, dimensionless number obtained from the ratio between cooling power and absorbed power, and it determines the unit's Energy Efficiency Class.
Thermal power
is the power yielded by the machine when operating as heat pump. It is measured in W or in Btu/h.
C.O.P. (Coefficient Of Performance)
is the equivalent of E.E.R. for heating. A numerical coefficient that indicates the efficiency or yield of a climate control system in heat pump mode. It is a pure, dimensionless number obtained from the ratio between the heating power yielded and the power used.
Air flow
is the quantity of air that the air conditioner can have pass through during the air "treatment" period and is measured in cubic metres per hour (m?/h).
Dehumidification capacity
is the quantity of water that the climate control system removes from the air in the dehumidification process. It is generally expressed in litres per hour (l/h).
Noise level
is the noise produced by the climate control system during normal operation; it is measured in decibels dB(A).
Rated temperature
is the range of temperature within which the air conditioner can operate. It is measured in degrees °C (Celsius) or °F (Fahrenheit).
